What is a Test Plan

A Test Plan is a detailed project plan, covering the scope of testing, the methodology to be used, the tasks to be performed, resources, schedules, risks, and dependencies. A Test Plan is developed prior to an actual development work to provide a well-defined and understood project roadmap.

Each project is unique. Within our D4 development process, the design segment contains the system requirements of each new project. With the system requirements defined, a test plan can be created to meet those needs, and provide the right team and resources to implement this solution.

Testing requirements vary substantially based on target market, implementation technologies used, development practices, and alike. A variety of test processes are available to help meet these requirements, some more applicable to a given project than others. bitWise is knowledgeable about most contemporary testing methods (automated and brut force) and can recommend options for defined, repeatable, well managed test procedures tailored to your requirements.

All Test Plans start with a Test Specification. It defines exactly what tests will be developed and what their scope and objectives will be. A Test Specification is produced as the first step in implementing a Test Plan, prior to the onset of test development. Implementation proceeds following a Test Plan and Test Specification. bitWise employs experienced software developers and system administrators with substantial automated testing development expertise to ensure a reliable product is produced according to the schedule and budgets agreed to at the start of the project.
